Branching Out - Parish Records
30th October 2010Parish records are some of the most informative and colourful records the family historian will find, and especially helpful for research prior to 1837. One of their fascinations is the great variety of records that may be found and the fact that these records often feature the Poor. They provide not only an insight into the running of the parish and into the lives of its inhabitants, but will often provide information about an ancestor that is not found anywhere else.
