Who do you think you are? Live 2008

Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE took place at Olympia on 2nd to 4th May, at the start of the good weather, which bought the general public out in droves.

At the showWe were on hand to meet old friends and promote the work of the Institute. We were pleased that a great many people came to talk to us and browse the book stall.

The event brought together family history experts, TV historians and celebrity enthusiasts, and is based around the BBC TV programme of the same name. This year featured Nicky Campbell, Natasha Kaplinski, Tony Robinson and Alistair MacGowan to name but a few.

Also this year, alongside the main event, was “Military History LIVE”. This showcased the Armed Forces during times of conflict and included presentations by Dan and Peter Snow. There were also organisations from the Army, Navy and Air Force giving people the opportunity to speak to experts on Military History. The event also encompassed “Discover Archaeology LIVE” with experts lecturing on a variety of topics.

The event proved very popular and a good time was had by all. Next year’s event will be held a lot earlier than this year, on Friday 27th February to Sunday 1st March 2009, again at Olympia.
