The Professions
Records relating to the clergy, the legal profession and the medical profession can provide valuable information about an ancestor in one of these three learned professions. The talk will consider the records available for ancestors who may have worked in one of these professions, the value of the information contained in them and where these records can be found. The talk will conclude with three case studies looking at the variety of records available for each of the three professions and highlight how much the records can tell us about an ancestor’s career.
Our online tutorials provide guidance on a broad range of topics. They are open to everyone.
In order to be able to join the tutorial you will need access to ZOOM. On the day of the Tutorial you will be sent a unique ID and password.
Please allow for two hours for the session, including joining and discussions. The talk will last approximately an hour.
The numbers are limited. If the bookings are full, please contact the registrar@ihgs.ac.uk as new dates will be added.
