The Records of the Quarter Sessions
The collection of records under the heading of Quarter Sessions is the largest collection of records in a county archive; there is more to the collection that court records. The tutorial explains the many options available to the researcher. Records that can determine whether a person owned property, was a licensee, held a civic post or was a Catholic. Court records will also be reviewed together with bastardy and settlement disputes.
Our online tutorials provide guidance on a broad range of topics. They are open to everyone.
In order to be able to join the tutorial you will need access to ZOOM. On the day of the Tutorial you will be sent a unique ID and password.
Please allow for two hours for the session, including joining and discussions. The talk will last approximately an hour.
