In December we welcome Ian Waller, FSG, FGRA, as our guest speaker.
Ian is an experienced genealogist who now concentrates on talks, lectures and workshops. Ian is currently the vice chairman and education officer of the Family History Federation (Federation of Family History Societies) and has served as the chairman of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA). He was made a Fellow of AGRA in recognition of his service to the Association. Ian is also a Fellow of the Society of Genealogists and previously served as a trustee and chairman of the Society Education Committee. He is the author of several books in the Society of Genealogists “My Ancestor” series, including My Ancestor was an Agricultural Labourer, My Ancestor was a Mormon, My Ancestor was in the Royal Navy and My Ancestor was a Leather Worker. Ian has also written “Family History Research Challenges and how to solve them” and “Introducing Manorial Records” published by Family History Books.
Ian’s Zoom talk, ‘’Bread, Gruel and Suet Dumplings – Workhouse Life’’ is in keeping with the festive season and will be presented on the following days:
