Our charity bookshop, in Northgate, Canterbury is open to visitors Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10am to 3pm (or other times by appointment)

Tucked away in Canterbury, the IHGS charity Bookshop is a treasure trove for book lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Our shelves are filled with both new and second-hand titles, alongside rare and out-of-print volumes that are often hard to find.

Specialising in genealogy, heraldry, and local history, the shop offers a unique collection that supports research, curiosity, and the joy of discovery.

Every purchase helps support the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, making your visit not only rewarding but meaningful.

Many of the books in our shop are listed online so if you are unable to call into Northgate please let us know which books you would like and we will calculate the postage to send them to you.
