IHGS extensive library consists of almost thirty thousand items with much of the collection being unique. These catalogues and finding aids provide a way to locate items within the library.

County Listings

Each county finding aid is divided into sections for parish registers, trade directories and then any other documents that we hold.

Original Documents

IHGS holds many original documents from deeds to letters dating from the 15th to the 20th century. Visitors to the library can request to view any of the documents.

Trade Directories

Directories for large towns can date from around the middle of the 18th Century and County Directories from early 19th Century.
