A tutorial that explains approaches to take when researching illegitimate ancestors. This tutorial follows the clues our ancestors left behind, including establishing fact from fiction in official records, to help understand our families lives better.
Liz Yule has been researching her own family history for many years and is especially interested in East Anglian genealogy. She has a history degree from the University of Kent, and has completed the IHGS Diploma and the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde. She is Director of Research of Achievements, the research arm of IHGS and appeared as a researcher on the Dutch series of Who do You Think You Are?.
Our online tutorials provide guidance on a broad range of topics. They are open to everyone.
In order to be able to join the tutorial you will need access to ZOOM. On the day of the Tutorial you will be sent a unique ID and password.
