Explore Genealogy Through the Stories of Who Do You Think You Are?

The BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? returns this spring, providing a compelling look at how personal history and genealogy come together through the stories of well-known individuals.

Each episode follows a different celebrity as they trace their family tree, using historical documents, expert research, and archival sources to uncover hidden chapters in their ancestry. From stories of migration and wartime survival to lost relatives and surprising connections, the programme highlights the power of family history research.

For those interested in genealogy, this series is a rich source of inspiration. It shows how parish records, military service documents, census data and more can reveal the lives and experiences of those who came before us. Viewers gain insight into the research process, including how to follow clues, interpret records and piece together a family narrative across generations.

Who Do You Think You Are? is a reminder of how genealogy connects us to history in a deeply personal way. As the celebrities discover their roots, they uncover stories that are often emotional, unexpected and historically significant.

Whilst we await the start-date for this next series of the genealogy research programme, if you would like to start your own journey into your ancestry then contact us today to find out how our team of professional genealogists can help.
