What is a One-Place Study? How mine helped me with the Correspondence Course.
This talk will look at what a One-Place Study is with examples from my own of St Mary Bourne, Hampshire. The examples will look at areas that my family history alone could not help me with on the course. It will highlight how looking at documents not only with the eyes of a family historian but also a local historian can open up avenues of research that may not have been considered.

Julie is a graduate of the Institute having gained her Higher Certificate in Genealogy in 2025, she is starting the Diploma in Genealogy course in January 2026. She is an associate of AGRA and a student member of RQG, along with being a member of many other societies. Besides her One-Place Study she also has a One-Name Study for the MORNIN family. She has also this year opened her own Genealogy Research business The Lineage Finder.

Our online tutorials provide guidance on a broad range of topics. They are open to everyone.

In order to be able to join the tutorial you will need access to ZOOM. On the day of the Tutorial you will be sent a unique ID and password.

Please allow for two hours for the session, including joining and discussions. The talk will last approximately an hour.
