The Meaning Behind Our Name

An Achievement is a heraldic term that reflects our deep-rooted history and expertise in heraldry and genealogy. An "Achievement of Arms" represents a full heraldic display, including the coat of arms, crest, and motto. At Achievements, we take pride in our daily successes, whether it’s building detailed family trees or overcoming complex research challenges on behalf of our clients.

Our location

The IHGS building in Canterbury dates from the 13th and 16th centuries and is based in the beautiful medieval city of Canterbury, Kent, renowned for its rich heritage and significant contributions to genealogy and heraldry. Located in the heart of Kent, Canterbury is home to the majestic Canterbury Cathedral, a treasure trove of heraldic symbols and ancestral records. This ancient city, with its medieval architecture and storied past, provides an unparalleled backdrop for genealogical research.

As a centre of historical inquiry, Canterbury attracts researchers and historians to East Kent, seeking to uncover its histories and heraldic traditions. Explore your family history with experts based in this historically rich and culturally significant city.
